Patients recover faster and experience significantly less pain with minimally invasive surgery than conventional surgery because of the small “button hole” incisions. These button hole incisions replace the larger incision of conventional surgery which can be as large as 12 to 24 inches depending on the type of surgery. As a result of the smaller incisions, patients tend to require less post-surgical pain medication, experience less scaring and a quicker recovery and faster return to normal activities.
